My real estate career was launched in 1980, with my earning a BA in Finance & Real Estate .  My original college major was Architecture, and that appreciation for residential design and aesthetics is always a consideration for me when analyzing pricing with sellers and value and investment potential with buyers.

My entire career has been in the real estate industry.  In addition to selling residential real estate since 2009, I spent 10 years as a Certified Residential Appraiser in the Seattle metro area, and another 20 years prior to that doing the same in the Silicon Valley.  My appraisal practice specialized in the high-end of the market, appraising approximately 5,000 homes in all, with average values over $1 million, ranging to $10 million.  I specialized in luxury and waterfront homes and luxury highrise condos in both Seattle and the Eastside.   I retired from appraising and my Appraisal Institute membership in 2010, to concentrate on brokerage, which to me is much more rewarding, challenging, and yes, fun!

I take great pride in knowing the nuances of most every neighborhood in Seattle and the Eastside, and understanding the economics of the many segments of this market well enough to defend negotiating for the “right” price for my buyers and sellers.  I’m also licensed in California, and spent a chunk of 2014 there for family reasons, and that experience clarified that the Northwest is where I want to be, for the unmatched quality of life here, in one of the most highly educated, culturally vibrant and economically thriving metropolises in the country, surrounded by unmatched access to nature.

In addition to my professional life, I have an incredible family, my oldest daughter and son-in-law are both high school teachers in Connecticut, my younger daughter is a special-ed teacher here in Seattle, and my son is pursuing a career in visual arts in New York City.  Raising my family here was the best thing I ever did, and is the basis of my enthusiasm for living in the Pacific Northwest.  It is my distinct pleasure to help others realize their housing goals in this uniquely great place to live!
